Your “friend” will not be able to get any cheap insurance due to his license being suspended. Tell him to shop around and take the cheapest rate he can find with an insurance company that is willing to insure a driver that has a suspended license on record.

Wow! Thanks for the info. I was pulled over and arrested for a DUI the other day. I now need an SR22, and had no idea what it was. Now I know what this is, and why I need it. Thanks again!

Why is the public not notified when the ins. co’s send a SR26 to suspend a license? It’s not right! On 3/14 /08 I was stopped for a “random inspection” in ARK. & told my lic was suspended. They kept my lic.; I had to pay $550 bond or told I would go to jail for 5 days till the hearing. Cost was another $500 to get home to VA since I couldnt drive. Found out this was from back in ’06 for not having paid my personal car insurance. Lives are being destroyed & Only the ins co’s benefit.

my husband needs a sr22 but we dont have a car . he is to have it till october09 but he dont want it because he dont drive. the question is if he dont get it will he be able to renew his license in december2009 if his bond requirement ends in october 2009????

i got 60 in a 35, and i lost my license til july 18th, they said i need sr22 insurance when i go back to get my license, how much would it be?
i live in des moines, iowa

how much more is it going to be?

@pegasus431 Wow I could not agree with you more on that. I too want to know why people are not notified? Because if they at least had a grace period or a warning to have enough time to pay their monthly insurace, that would help them a little more in the long run. I mean damn, people are not bad people just because they make mistakes and mess up here and again. People do tend to forget, and no one is perfect. I know this was 2 yrs. ago u posted, I just had to comment.

Thank you for the info dem. I didn’t even know we would not be notified. I live in St. Louis and need an SR22 so I can get my license back. I was told I should have gotten it back October of last year! I would not have known that if I had not went in to DMV to find out. I do not want my license to expire, and I am looking for reasonably priced SR22 insurance (no car yet). Where can I find affordable SR22 insurance?
